This residential project involved a full lead water supply pipe replacement following a leak notification from Thames Water. The work was planned to minimise disruption and completed within a single day.
Site survey & recommendation
- Leak identified on the private supply pipe

Installation & access
- Single access pit excavated for moling
- 9-metre underground bore created from boundary stop tap to cellar
- New MDPE pipe installed without surface excavation
- New internal stop valve connected to existing pipework
Duration & water supply

- Water supply isolated for less than 30 minutes
Results
The Victorian pathway remained completely untouched, with all access points reinstated to their original condition. The new 25 mm MDPE supply pipe now provides a modern, durable, and fully lead-free water connection.
The homeowner received a WIAPS compliance certificate, and Thames Water were notified of the completed upgrade in line with current water industry regulations.
